1 - What is School Custom Solutions?
A:
School Custom Solutions develops flexible, economical, and dynamic programs for individual districts, school systems, and academic programs. Customization allows you to create the titles that you really want; tailor programs more closely to the needs of your students; and control the costs of classroom material.
Q:
2 - Doesn't McGraw-Hill Education already customize for state adoptions?
A:
Yes, McGraw-Hill Education's professional editorial teams do map national editions to state-specific standards and produce modified state-specific editions. School Custom Solutions can customize the national edition of a title or further customize a state edition for a district, school, or a non-traditional, private or charter program.

3 - What are ideal custom opportunities?
A:
Often, our existing McGraw-Hill Education titles will satisfy your needs, however sometimes a custom solution is appropriate such as:
1:
Creating specific texts at a district or school level-reorganizing chapters, removing content, or inserting instructor generated material to core texts in a seamless manner
2:
Regionalizing a title with new preface, end-of-chapter, or state specific content
3:
Creating adoption specific covers and branding
4:
Rebinding soft-cover titles to hardbound or NASTA bindings
5:
Reprinting sections of a book as a stand alone entity
6:
Reprinting discontinued products
Q:
4 - Do Custom projects have any set guidelines or restrictions?
A:
Like all programs, projects must be financially sound. See your McGraw-Hill Education sales rep for assistance on customizing a text. Make sure your understand the following guidelines:
1:
All projects must meet financial thresholds for approval.
2:
There are no returns allowed.
3:
All orders will be direct shipped from the printer complete as ordered.
4:
Inventory guarantees require special approval.
5:
The print program includes only the Student Edition and student supplements. The Teacher's Edition and supplements will only be available in an electronic format.
6:
Production work will not commence until a signed Letter of Agreement is returned.

5 - Why are no returns allowed?
A:
Due to the specialized nature of custom publishing, we are creating unique a product for each customer, and are unable to sell returned products to other districts or schools.
Q:
6 - Can I have partial orders delivered?
A:
No, partial orders are not allowed. In order to streamline back office operations to run customized projects efficiently and to deliver products in a timely manner, we will not be warehousing School Custom Solutions programs. Orders may be shipped to separate locations; however, all orders within a project will be shipped at the same time.

7 - How do I request an inventory guarantee?
A:
Please see your McGraw-Hill Education sales rep to discuss. This request will require additional review and a fulfillment process will need to be explored. Please note that indicating that an inventory guarantee is necessary does not guarantee its approval.

8 - What products can be customized?
A:
Most McGraw-Hill School Education Group products have the potential for being customized, but a few do have restrictions. If you have questions regarding a specific product line, please see your McGraw-Hill Education sales rep.

9 - Will Instructor editions and supplemental resources be customized?
A:
Yes, but in an effort to make the custom program more cost effective, they will only be available in an electronic format.

10 - Will electronic titles be available as customized products?
A:
Please see your McGraw-Hill Education sales rep regarding producing customized products in an electronic format.
Q:
11 - Do Permissions need to be considered?
A:
Yes, McGraw-Hill Education is still responsible for verifying that third party content has been properly cleared for use within products. This may add time and expense to your project. If you are adding your own original material to a School Custom Solutions product, it is your responsibility to clear all permissions and provide written documentation. Permission request letters are available, if needed.

12 - How will the customized products be priced?
A:
Pricing for a product will be determined during the review process. Pricing will reflect the extra work that goes into creating a unique program and will start with the cost of the current edition. Pricing may increase or decrease based on the amount of original content and the production requirements. A final approved price will be included in the project confirmation.

13 - Are there any file requirements for putting my school image or logo on the cover of our text?
A:
Yes, the images must have a resolution of at least 300 dpi. Art must be in a vector file format, e.g. .ai.
